JOB DESCRIPTION: Passionate about food? Love to sell? Edible Jersey, a bi-monthly food magazine celebrating the local, seasonal food of the Garden State, is looking for a person to sell advertising to gourmet stores, caterers, farms, restaurants, wine shops, kitchenware stores, and other potential magazine supporters. Candidate should be friendly, motivated, and have an interest in and knowledge of the New Jersey food scene.  Previous sales experience and contacts at food businesses in your area a plus but not required.

Preferred candidates will have: 

  • an entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter approach
  • the ability to travel locally within assigned territory (cold calling experience a plus)
  • solid presentation skills
  • the ability to build and maintain business relationships effectively
  • proficiency with presentation and client management tools

SALARY/COMPENSATION: Commission based

Inside sales persons are expected to deliver exceptional customer service and do market research within their assigned territories to blow the lid off the business potential.

  • Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
  • Prospect and contact potential customers
  • Reach agreed upon sales targets by the deadline
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
  • Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments

Preferred candidates will have: 

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
